Avoid linear actions
The general case of what I wrote about Making money is that you should always prefer actions that compound over time.
Here are some things that produce value linear in time:
- Dating apps
- Consuming content
- Working at a job or as a contractor
- Farming
And things that compound:
- Making friends
- Growing a social media account
- Creating content or a product
- Starting a business
Making friends is certainly more fun than using a dating app!
One further point: if you change what you’re doing every time a new hype cycle starts, you won’t be able to take advantage of long-term gains. Don’t do that.
