Let yourself speciate
Fact: you can either try to be the best in an existing category or you can create a new category where you’re the sole member, and the best by default. This is unfair, which is a good thing (Against fairness).

Speciation is the process of divergence. It’s the process of discovering a niche where you can meet your needs, and adapting as necessary. It’s the way life works, and the reason Earth is such a strange place.
Unlike most animals, we don’t need to wait for natural selection to match us to a niche. Study yourself and how you fit into the world. What’s a niche where I have an advantage at Making money? Where I’m the most attractive? Where nobody can compete with me?
It helps to have many interests:
pulled in so many directions right now. I want to study more botany (conifer identification is tricky), work on my origin of life research, get better at drawing (not a total beginner but still have a long way to go), read the growing pile of scifi books on my desk...
